Trump: Putin's speech makes me "fly away pissed"

Donald Trump will speak with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin next week, the American president says according to NBC News. Trump says he is "very angry" after Putin said that Ukraine should be led by a "transitional administration" and later hold elections.

This has made Trump "fly away pissed". The president, who went to the polls to end the war, says at the same time that his relationship with Putin is good.

- The anger disappears quickly if he does the right thing.

Trump also says that he can impose sanctions on Russia if he feels that the Kremlin is standing in the way of a peace settlement.

Secret cooperation: American base in Germany helped attack Russian targets

The cooperation between the United States and Ukraine in the war against Russia has gone much deeper than previously thought - and has been kept secret. This is shown by a new extensive review from the New York Times.

The partnership has not only concerned financial contributions. The review shows that since the start of the war, the US has had a military base in Wiesbaden, Germany, where American and Ukrainian officers have met. There they determined military priorities for each day. American intelligence work has given Ukraine coordinates on Russian positions and targets that were then fired upon.

An example of this is during the first spring of the war in 2022 when the US sent artillery systems to Ukraine. The US then coordinated basically every attack against Russia during Ukraine's counteroffensive, which suddenly gave them a surprising advantage, writes NYT.

The review also shows that the US has secretly constantly moved its "red lines". Among other things, by having about a dozen American officers in Wiesbaden relocated to Kyiv and then out to posts closer to the front line.

American anger and panic when Russian flagship was sunk

Top American military officials were angry, surprised and panicked when Ukraine sank the Russian prestige ship Moskva in the Black Sea in the spring of 2022. The New York Times writes in its review of Ukrainian-American cooperation during the war.

The anger was based on the fact that Ukraine had not said anything about the attack being carried out. The surprise was based on the fact that Ukraine even had missiles that could sink the ship. And the panic was rooted in the fact that the United States had no intention of strengthening Ukraine to the point that they could knock out such a heavy symbol as Moscow – the very flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

The incident is said to have occurred at the same time as the United States and Ukraine were having a routine intelligence conversation, a source tells the newspaper. The Americans are said to have discovered the incident on their radar screens, whereupon they said “Oh, that’s Moscow!”

– My God. Thank you very much. Bye! the Ukrainians replied.

Satellite images: Russia drains Ukraine’s minerals

In its offensive war against Ukraine, Russia has aimed to take over the country’s mineral production, shows a review from SVT Nyheter.

40 percent of the country's natural resources are already under Russian control, which is worth 126.5 trillion kronor, according to the think tank SecDev.

By reviewing a wealth of data and satellite images, SVT's investigation shows how Russia has taken control of large parts of Ukraine's granite, coal and lithium production, including with the help of Chinese companies. All three are important for Ukraine's economy and exports.

Russia is currently actively working to move companies to the occupied land in Ukraine, so that the mineral resources it has taken can be extracted. A so-called free economic zone has been created in those areas and so far 316 Russian companies have established themselves in occupied Ukraine.

Ukraine's mineral resources are high on the agenda and at the heart of a possible agreement with the United States.
