The political situation in Poland

Polish politician dressed up in a cap and praised himself

Polish presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki is being mocked in his homeland – after a strange story that took place a few years ago has now been revealed. This is what the BBC writes.

A few years ago, the mysterious author Tadeusz Batyr wrote a book about a gangster in Poland in the 1980s. What no one knew was that it was the top politician who was hiding behind the pseudonym.

In 2018, Tadeusz Batyr – that is, Karol Nawrocki – appeared on Polish television. He was then disguised in a cap and his face was pixelated.

– Karol Nawrocki has really inspired me, he said when talking about his book.

As if that were not enough, Batyr added that he has also met Nawrocki, who in turn really appreciated the book.

Social media in Poland is now flooded with mocking comments. Some are wondering whether it is Batyr or Nawrocki who will run in the election, which will be held on May 18.
