Middle East Crisis Gaza War

Israeli military orders evacuation of Rafah

The Israeli military has issued a comprehensive evacuation order for most of the southern Gaza city of Rafah, the AP reports. Palestinians in several areas of southern Gaza are being ordered to leave their homes and head to the so-called safe zone of al-Mawasi.

“The IDF is resuming fighting with great force to destroy the capabilities of terrorist organizations in the area,” spokesman Avichay Adraee wrote on X.

Over a thousand dead in Gaza since ceasefire was broken

1,001 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel resumed attacks, the Hamas-run health authority said, according to AFP.

According to a statement, 80 people have been killed in the past two days.

The ceasefire was broken earlier in March after Hamas rejected Israel’s proposal to extend the first phase and release more hostages.

The death toll from Gaza is difficult to verify because Israel does not allow independent media into Gaza, but the UN and other bodies have considered the Gaza health authority's statistics reliable.

UN: Israel executed 15 health workers "one by one" - dumped in mass grave

15 Palestinian health and rescue workers were executed "one by one" by Israeli forces, and then buried in a mass grave, in Gaza on March 23, the UN humanitarian agency OCHA said, according to The Guardian.

The workers, who were affiliated with the Red Crescent and the civil defense, had, according to the UN, rushed to rescue colleagues who had been shot earlier in the day when their clearly marked vehicles were attacked by Israeli forces in Rafah.

According to OCHA's Palestine director Jonathan Whittall, the bodies were dug up wearing their work uniforms and gloves.

- The ambulances have been buried in the sand. A UN vehicle has been buried in the sand. An Israeli military bulldozer has buried them, he says.
