Lavrov: NATO's Arctic activity a direct threat
Russia sees NATO's activity in the Arctic as a direct security threat, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an article according to Reuters.
NATO's military exercises in the area are seen by Russia as "aggressive", according to the article.
In February, NATO launched Arctic Sentry, whose mission, among other things, is to coordinate the military exercises that individual NATO countries are already arranging in the Arctic, coordinate monitoring of the region and create a better common situational picture.
Russia has already previously expressed its opposition to Arctic Sentry.
