Over 6,000 Ebola cases in Congo

Authorities in Congo-Kinshasa say that over 6,000 people have been confirmed to be infected with Ebola.
So far, nearly 3,000 people have died in the worst Ebola epidemic in the country.
The announcement on Monday from the country's health authorities shows that the outbreak is worse than the epidemic that lasted from 2018 to 2020.
According to statistics confirmed by the country, 2,911 people have died, while 1,366 have recovered from the 6,041 confirmed cases.
In the latest epidemic, the outbreak is caused by the bundibugyo variant.
