Hak Ja Han, widow of the founder of the new religious movement known as the Moon Movement, has been sentenced to two years in prison by a South Korean court for corruption.

83-year-old Hak Ja Han is accused of bribing the wife of South Korea's ousted president Yoon Suk Yeol and embezzling church funds.

Hak Ja Han, who took over the role of leader of the Moon Movement (formally the Unification Church or the Family Federation for World Peace and Unity) after her husband Sun Myung Moon died, denies all charges.

Last year, Hak Ja Han was arrested and charged with giving luxury goods to the former first lady in 2022, when Yoon Suk Yeol was still in power.
