A
memorial service for King Harald's passing will begin at 11 am. Long
queues formed outside Asker Church, southwest of Oslo, where the royal
family will attend.
King Haakon, Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra,
Dowager Queen Sonja and Prince Sverre Magnus are all attending the
service, while Queen Mette-Marit is not attending as she is recovering
from her lung transplant in June.
The church can accommodate 400 people and even before the gates opened at 10 am, long queues of mourners formed outside.
Several
memorial services are being held throughout Norway on Sunday. Prime
Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and several other representatives of Norwegian
society will be present at Oslo Cathedral.
