Trump: We have a subdued tactic against Iran
Donald Trump says that he has partly changed tactics against Iran and that the US is now using a "subdued" tactic.
Just over a week after he threatened Iran with "the biggest attack since World War II", he tells the news site Axios that the US is now only "partially negotiating" and rather than active warfare is trying to wait out Iran.
- We're just looking at their high inflation and the fact that they have no money, he says.
He says he is not worried about the high oil price and claims that consumers no longer feel it as much.
- It will work out. It always works out, it's like a game of chess, he says.
The interview was published a few hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the Gaza plan praised by Trump, a topic not addressed in the published text.
