Trump reiterates that he wants to see lower interest rates, but downplays the image that Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh alone makes decisions on interest rates. In an interview with Punchbowl News, the president says that the board has great influence.

- It's partly up to him, but not entirely. He has a board that is very political, says Trump.

The statement comes after repeated criticism of Warsh's representative Jerome Powell and again raises questions about Trump's attempts to influence the central bank's independence.

AI creates more jobs than it replaces in India, according to a report from the Japanese investment bank Nomura, which Bloomberg has seen. The country has become an important barometer for the effects of technology on the labor market.

"This runs counter to the image of massive job losses due to AI," write the bank's economists.

During the period 2022–2026, just over 83,000 AI-related jobs were created, while just under 32,000 disappeared. At the same time, the gaps in the labor market are widening as simpler services are replaced, while the demand for more experienced AI skills is growing.

Asia can decide Infantino's fate: "Sitting relatively securely"

Asia will be a key continent when it comes to Gianni Infantino being or not being as Fifa president. This is what Lars-Christer Olsson, former general secretary of UEFA, told TT.

The European football association UEFA has 55 votes and Africa's equivalent 54. While Europeans dislike Infantino, Africans are more positive. "Money talks," says Olsson.

- Africa has always been fond of Infantino.

This means that their votes almost cancel each other out. With its 46 votes, Asia's votes therefore carry extra weight. Olsson says that it is a motley group of associations and that everything therefore boils down to the respective member countries.

German sports professor Jürgen Mittag does not really agree. A relatively robust support in Africa, Asia, Oceania and parts of Central America is enough, he tells Tagesspiegel.

– Infantino is weakened, but his position is still relatively secure.
