Ukraine: Talks with US envoys this week
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj says that US envoys are expected in Kiev in the coming days for talks on how Russia's war can be brought to an end.
- We expect to meet the US president's envoy here in Kiev. We have confirmation from them, Zelenskyj says in his daily speech.
- They will have meetings in both Moscow and Kiev. We expect a meeting in the coming days.
Diplomatic attempts to end Russia's war have in recent months been overshadowed by the US war in Iran.
Donald Trump's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have been involved in shuttle diplomacy between Russia and Ukraine, and have visited Moscow on several occasions.
So far, however, they have not traveled to Kiev.
