Instead of bringing Trump down, the FBI raid could boost his stock

For any normal politician, breaking espionage laws would be the death knell.
But for Donald Trump, on the contrary, it may turn out that he is strengthening his shares ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
If you think you recognize parts of the wording above, it is because Trump, throughout his political career, has worked best against the wind.
There are countless times when Trump was counted out during the 2016 election campaign and during his four years in the White House.
I think of everything from the ”grab´em by the pussy” -video where Trump makes disparaging comments about how to treat women, to the speech last January 6th where he incited his supporters to storm the Capitol (stormningen av Kapitolium).
Instead of being brought down by the scandals, he seems to have gained extra energy from them. The accusations have flowed from him. He was impeached twice as president and acquitted both times.

The story of the secretdocumentes that Trump illegally kept in his Palm Beach, Florida home may well end the same way.
We do not yet know what these documents contain and the question is whether we will ever find out given their alleged highly sensitive nature.
What has been made public is a list of the type of documents involved, some of which have the highest classification. Documents like that are apparently illegal for a president to take with him from the White House.
Why did Trump keep the papers?
Trump claims he declassified all documents in advance. The question, however, is whether he did it the right way. There is a very strict procedure for reclassifying classified documents, although the president has that right.
But there are also documents that he cannot declassify, for example when it comes to nuclear weapons.
A central question that still awaits answers is why Trump brought the documents with him. Do they contain sensitive information for him?

We still don't know if there will be any charges against Trump.
The raid on his home was just part of a long-running investigation into the material Trump took from the White House that the FBI suspects could be a crime that could lead to jail time.
The downside: The victim role
As usual, Trump hits back. He has done nothing wrong. It's all part of a political witch hunt that Democrats are waging to prevent Trump from running in 2024.
Virtually all heavyweight Republicans have single-handedly stood up for Trump and condemned the FBI raid in the strongest possible terms. This even before they had any idea about the reason why the FBI searched Trump's home or what was found there.
The raid has given Trump another chance to market himself as a victim. He dares to challenge the elite and so the establishment constantly tries to put him down and stop him.

Record sums
The result is that Trump's organization Save America Inc. has seen a sharp increase in contributions from Trump's supporters in recent days.
A few days ago, son Erik Trump boasted on Twitter that the organization had raised more money "in the last 24 hours than at any other time in modern history."
He also stated that Trump's supporters are "pissed off". An observation there is no reason to question.
Angry supporters are a must for Trump.
Anger is the main driving force to get them to vote for Trump-loyal candidates in the November midterm elections, thus laying the groundwork for a Trump victory should he decide to run in 2024.

A large number of the Republicans who won their primaries argue that Trump is guaranteed victory in 2020. If elected in November, they will be in positions where they can influence whether the results of the 2024 presidential election are approved or not.
A number of legal proceedings are ongoing against Trump at the same time, of which at least three others relate to his presidency. All three of these could end up indicting Trump, but don't have to.
But even if he is indicted and convicted, it is not certain that it will be possible to stop Trump from standing in the 2024 election.
Perhaps what Trump claimed in the 2016 election campaign still applies:
- I can stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot someone and people will still vote for me.
