Finland's Prime Minister Sanna Marin is being noticed after party videos of her spread on social media.

In the films, Sanna Marin dances while well-known Finnish songs are played at high volume.

- I have not used drugs, I only drank alcohol, says Sanna Marin.

Sanna Marin has been Prime Minister of Finland since 2019.

A party night where she dances to Finnish pop songs is now attracting attention, which the newspaper Iltalehti was the first to report on.

Sanna Marin can be seen dancing in several short videos together with, among others, party colleague and Member of Parliament Ilmari Nurminen.

In front of a gathered press corps, Sanna Marin had to defend herself, and Sanna Marin tells Yle that she is disappointed.

- These videos were filmed in a private context and I am disappointed that they have spread to the public, says Sanna Marin.

The party took place last week but it is not clear who spread the footage.

"The Flour Gang"

20 seconds into the video, it sounds like one of the partygoers is shouting "the flour gang", which many interpreted as an allusion to cocaine.

Sanna Marin says that she does not know why someone shouted "the flour gang", and that she does not know what it is that was meant.

She says that she did not use drugs, but only drank alcohol, and that she also does not know of anyone else who would have used drugs.

- I have danced, sung and partied and done completely legal things, says Sanna Marin.

After the party, which took place in a private residence, the party is said to have continued in two different bars in Helsinki.

- Also there I sang, danced and hugged my friends and drank alcohol, says Sanna Marin.

In addition to the politicians, other celebrities also participated in the party, including the artist Alma and the stylist Vesa Silver.

Sanna Marin does not think she has done anything wrong, and hopes that the focus will now be on her political role.

- I intend to concentrate on managing the Prime Minister's duties. It is possible even though I sometimes have a free evening and am with my friends.
