Israel and Palestine agree on a ceasefire

A cease-fire between Israel and Palestine in Gaza will come into effect on Sunday night.
This is reported by the Reuters news agency.
The ceasefire is said to be in effect from 8pm this evening, local time.
On Sunday, Israeli airstrikes and artillery fire against Islamic Jihad positions continued, while the terrorist-labeled Palestinian group responded with rockets at Israel. According to health authorities in the Gaza Strip, "Israeli aggression" has claimed around 30 victims, six of them children. Over 270 people have been injured.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi says Cairo is talking to both parties "around the clock" to find a solution.
Diplomatic sources confirm to the Jerusalem Post that Israel is negotiating with the Egyptian mediators. The newspaper states with reference to other Israeli media that Israel has accepted an Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire from 20:00 local time (19:00 Swedish time) on Sunday evening.
According to the sources, Islamic Jihad has not given notice.
