Queen Elizabeth II is dead. This is stated by the British court. The Queen was 96 years old.  

The court announces this in a press release, writes the news agency PA. 

"The Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and Queen will stay at Balmoral during the evening and return to London tomorrow" writes  

Queen Elizabeth turned 96 years old.
