Political situation in Germany
German politicians: Ban the far-right party AFD
Four out of ten Germans and a number of prominent politicians want to investigate a ban on the far-right party AFD, Germany's second largest party in public opinion with 22 percent support. This is reported by DN.
The argument is that German democracy would be threatened if the party gained political power.
- It would be an upheaval, and pose a great danger to the democratic culture, to the good of the public and to our business life, says the social democratic SDP's chairman Saskia Esken.
She is supported by several party colleagues and politicians in the Christian Democratic CDU. However, others are critical, including CDU party leader Friedrich Merz, who believes that a ban would increase support for the AFD.

Trump's legal affairs
The judge threatened to throw Trump out of the courtroom
During the ongoing defamation trial in New York, where Donald Trump is facing author E Jean Carroll, Judge Lewis Caplan threatened to throw the former president out of the courtroom. That's what CNN writes.
Trump was heard making several comments about the trial being "a witch hunt" and "a sham," prompting Caplan to warn the former president that continued disruptive behavior could lead to his departure.
- Preferably for me, Trump said.
- I know. You obviously can't control yourself under these circumstances, the judge replied.
Carroll has sued Trump for condescending remarks he made after being awarded damages last year for sexually assaulting her.

The problems with the Boeing plan
Blink stuck in Davos - fault on the Boeing 737 plane
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is stranded in the Swiss Davos due to a fault on the modified Boeing 737 plane he is traveling with, writes Bloomberg.
After boarding, Blinken and his entourage were informed that an oxygen leak had been discovered on the plane, the cause of which was unknown. A smaller plane has now been sent from Brussels to fly the minister home, but several employees and journalists are forced to fly home commercially.
It is happening at the same time that Boeing is crashing on the stock market after the American aviation authority FAA covered the model 737-9 Max with a flight ban. This after the Alaska Airlines accident where a plane broke up in the air.

The traces of cocaine in the Riksdag chancelleries
SD source: Complete panic after the cocaine revelation
There is "complete panic" within the Sweden Democrats and the chancellor wants to drug test all officials since Aftonbladet found traces of cocaine in a toilet at the party's Riksdag chancellery, a source within the party told the newspaper.
Traces of cocaine were also found in the Liberals, the Left Party and the Social Democrats. Several SD sources point out precisely the officials as possible users of the cocaine. A source within one of the parties concerned says, however, that there are many who have access to the premises.
- It might as well be an elected representative and that is not good.
Party leaders of all parties concerned have reacted strongly to the revelation. The Riksdagkansliet's head of security Niklas Åström tells the newspaper that a police report has been drawn up.
