Frederiksen hits back at JD Vance's criticism: "One of the best allies of the US"
Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen is hitting back after US Vice President JD Vance called the European country a bad ally, Danish media reports.
- We have fought side by side with the Americans for many, many decades. We are one of the most important and best allies of the US, she says, emphasizing that she did not appreciate JD Vance's comments.
Frederiksen is currently at an informal EU summit in Brussels, where several European leaders are
participating.

Netanyahu in the US - meetings on the second phase of the ceasefire
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Washington to meet US President Donald Trump. They will talk about the second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza, several media reports.
On Monday, Netanyahu is to meet with Steve Witkoff, President Trump's new Middle East envoy, to discuss the deal.
The next step in the ceasefire is expected to include the release of the remaining prisoners and discussions on a permanent end to the war, writes AFP.
Trump and Netanyahu are not to meet until Tuesday. Netanyahu has previously said their meeting will be about "defeating Hamas, countering Iran and freeing all hostages".
The meeting will be Donald Trump's first meeting with a foreign leader since he returned to the White House for his second term in January.

Pro-Russian military leader killed in Moscow bombing
Armen Sarkisyan, a pro-Russian paramilitary leader, was killed in the large explosion that hit a luxury apartment complex in northwestern Moscow earlier on Monday, several media outlets report. The Guardian writes that a bomb exploded as Sarkisyan entered the lobby with his bodyguards.
Russian state media reports that Sarkisyan was the president of the boxing federation in Donetsk. He also co-founded a paramilitary group fighting against Ukraine. The paramilitary leader has long supported pro-Russian forces in Ukraine.
Sarkisyan has been wanted in Ukraine, according to the Moscow Times. Sky News reports that he is often described as a “mafia boss”.
The earthquake on Santorini
Great unrest on Santorini after hundreds of earthquakes
New earthquakes have shaken the Greek tourist island of Santorini on Monday, several media reports. The AFP news agency writes that worried people slept outdoors and that many left the island because of the earthquake. In total, over 200 earthquakes have been registered over the weekend.
At 06:00 Swedish time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 was measured off the island of Anafi, which is located near Santorini. Schools on the island are closed and authorities are urging people to avoid large gatherings in closed rooms.
