Right-wing frontal attack on Løkke: Election fraud and liar
In the midst of the government formation process in Denmark, several right-wing parties are launching a frontal attack on the wavemaker Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
One of the front figures for the Liberal Alliance, Ole Birk Olesen, is going so far as to accuse Løkke of election fraud. This is because the political veteran promised voters before the election not to cooperate with the left-wing party Enhedslisten, but now he doesn't seem so sure.
Ole Birk Olesen believes that Løkke lured conservative voters to vote for the Moderates, only to then negotiate with the left.
- They have lied to appeal to a certain type of voter, he tells Jyllands-Posten.
The party leader of the immigration-critical Danish Democrats, Inger Støjberg, also wrote on social media that it was a “giant betrayal of the blue voters who believed in Løkke’s guarantees”.
It has now been a month since the election, but so far the pollster Mette Frederiksen (S) has not managed to form a government.
The Danish election — that’s the point
- The election in Denmark on March 24 resulted in the left bloc receiving 84 seats, the right bloc 77 and the center party Moderates 14 seats. Since then, the right-wing parties have suffered a couple of defections.V
- The Social Democrats and the right-wing party Venstre made their worst elections ever. Overall, it was a divided parliament with many small and medium-sized parties.många små och medelstora partier.
- No bloc obtained a majority of its own, which gave the Moderates and party leader Lars Løkke Rasmussen a crucial role as a wave-maker.
- Mette Frederiksen (S) was tasked by the king to try to form a government.
- The government negotiations have been difficult and so far fruitless.
