Elon Musk summed up 2023 as the world's richest person, but just a month into the new year, he has lost the title to the Frenchman Bernard Arnault. This is reported by Market Watch with reference to the Forbes billionaire list.
Tesla's stock has fallen 26 percent since the turn of the year after the company warned of a slowdown in sales. That has caused Musk's fortune to shrink to $204.7 billion. Arnault, who is a major shareholder in the luxury conglomerate LVMH, is in turn worth $208.2 billion.

Evergrande's CEO Shawn Siu says that the liquidation of the Chinese real estate giant is "regrettable", writes AFP.
- Today's verdict is contrary to our original intention. We can only say that we have tried our best and that is very regrettable, he says.
The property company's debts are estimated at around SEK 3,600 billion. Evergrande's stock fell more than 20 percent on Monday's Hong Kong stock exchange before trading was halted.

Finnair cancels 550 flights in connection with the general strike
Finnair is canceling 550 flights on Thursday and Friday, February 1-2, due to a political strike in Finland. This means that the majority of Finnair's usual 280 trips per day will be affected, the company writes in a press release.
