Biden bets in South Carolina - wants to win blacks  

Joe Biden is betting hard on winning over black voters in South Carolina ahead of the primary, reports Politico.  

- You are the reason why Donald Trump is a loser, and you will be the reason why we win again and we beat him again, Joe Biden said during a campaign meeting in the state on Saturday.  

The president is also said to have enshrined the many important steps he claims to have taken to advance black rights. 

The victory in South Carolina was an important key to Biden winning the presidential election in 2020, and there are many indications that the state will be decisive in this year's election as well.  

According to Politico, some Democrats are concerned about Biden's declining support among black US voters. Therefore, the vote numbers in the primary election in February may be important for the momentum of the campaign, even though it is already basically clear that Biden will get the Democratic nomination.

Trump: I'm sharper now than I was twenty years ago  

Donald Trump is rejecting criticism from primary challenger Nikki Haley that his age would affect his mental abilities, Reuters reports. 

- I feel sharper now than I did twenty years ago, says the ex-president. 

Nikki Haley has made repeated attacks on the age and sanity of her 77-year-old primary rival. 

Earlier in January, Donald Trump confused Haley with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. According to Reuters, he also recently hinted that Barack Obama is still president. 

 

Rolling Stone reports that Trump also said he comes from a family of many smart people, including an uncle who was a professor at MIT.
