When French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron arrive in Sweden today for a two-day state visit, there is a lot on the agenda. During the morning, they were both welcomed by the royal couple in a ceremony in the Inner courtyard of the Royal Palace. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and several other ministers also participated.
During the afternoon, meetings between Kristersson and Macron await at Rosenbad. Among other things, they will discuss security policy and energy policy, writes TT. A joint press conference will be held after 2 p.m.
Tomorrow, the state visit continues with a business seminar in Stockholm, before taking place in Skåne. There, university students will be able to question Macron during "Student Night" in Lund.
The organizers have also invited the presidential couple to an after-session with a traditional dinner: Pityt i panna with béarnaise sauce.

Mannerström saws the right to Macron: "Sounds terrible"
Leif Mannerström is not jealous of Emmanuel Macron's dinner invitation from Studentafton in Lund tomorrow, writes DN. On the menu are pitt in a pan and béarnaise sauce.
- I think it sounds like a rather terrible combination, says the popular chef to DN and adds that no sauce is needed for the dish at all - beetroot and fried eggs will do just fine.
Studentafton always offers its guests a splash in the pan and since 2004 with just the accessory béarnaise sauce. The reason is supposed to be that the Danish Queen Margarethe requested it during a visit

Macron's visit creates hope for new defense cooperation
When French President Emmanuel Macron visits Sweden today, there are hopes of signing an agreement on defense cooperation. Jan Larsson, CEO of Business Sweden, tells TT.
The French companies MBDA and Airbus, two of Europe's leading companies in the defense sector, are participating in a business seminar in connection with the visit.
- Considering the geopolitical situation, it is important to bear in mind that France and Sweden are world leaders in the defense industry. We therefore also hope to be able to sign concrete agreements on collaborations there, says Larsson.
The big issue during the visit is nuclear power, as Sweden and France are to sign a cooperation agreement.
