One in two Democrats believe Israel is committing genocide
35 percent of the American population believes that Israel's offensive in Gaza is genocide. This is according to a survey from YouGov/The Economist, which The Guardian reports on, among others.
In contrast, 36 percent of the population believes that the offensive is not a genocide, while 29 percent are unsure. When the polling company asks registered Democrats, the number who believe a genocide is being committed increases to 49 percent. 21 percent of Democrats say it is not a genocide, while 30 percent are unsure.
The Republicans' view of the offensive is different. 57 percent do not think that a genocide is being committed, while 18 percent do, 25 percent are unsure.

Israel releases secret documents ahead of Hague verdict
Israel has released more than 30 secret documents to show that it did not commit genocide in Gaza. This is what the New York Times writes before Friday's verdict in the International Court of Justice, ICJ, in The Hague.
The newspaper has read the documents, which to a large extent contain discussions and orders from the country's war cabinet. Israel hopes to show that discussions within the political and military leadership have diverged from heavily criticized public statements.
The New York Times writes that the documents show that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has on several occasions emphasized the importance of emergency aid being allowed into Gaza.
However, the documents provide an edited and severely limited picture of the discussions. Among other things, orders given during the first ten days of the war are missing.
