EU sources: "Everyone is fed up with Charles Michel"
Behind the scenes, EU diplomats are sharply critical of the European Council's Charles Michel, according to Politico. This after Michel first announced that he was running for the European Parliament, only to make a U-turn three weeks later and announce that he would stay in his post until the end of November.
"Okay, then I can put the champagne back in the fridge," an EU official is said to have said.
Another says that "everyone is just sick of Michel" and notes that all he does is make sure "meetings start on time and everyone has a pen that works".
According to the policy site's sources, Michel has no credibility left.
"He has committed political harakiri," says a source.

Israeli raid on hospital in Jenin - clip reportedly shows soldiers in disguise
Israeli forces have raided the Ibn Sina hospital in the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank. That's what AP writes.
According to Israel, three Palestinian militiamen who used the hospital as a hideout were killed. The terrorist group Hamas and its ally Islamic Jihad have confirmed that the men were members.
Footage from a surveillance camera shows how the Israeli soldiers were disguised when they entered the hospital. Three wear women's clothing and two are dressed as Palestinian health workers. Also a wheelchair and a baby carrier are said to have been used as a kind of prop.
According to the Norwegian fact-checking site Faktsk, the video is probably genuine, writes VG.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health says the soldiers opened fire inside the wards and calls on the international community to stop Israel from carrying out military operations in hospitals.
Reuters reports that the attack on the hospital further shows how Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza is spreading to new fronts.
