South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol on Monday met with party colleague, also acting party leader, Han Dong-Hoon to have lunch and address the ongoing bag scandal, Korean media reports. Kim Keon Hee, married to the president, has been charged with bribery after receiving an expensive handbag.
Han Dong-Hoon has previously said that the suspected bribery is "a public matter". However, President Yoon has declined to comment on the matter.
Meanwhile, there have been reports of a split between Han and Yoon ahead of the upcoming general election. Yoon reportedly expressed displeasure with Han's actions. The reason is that the party has not yet said what candidates it will support in the election.

Increased pressure on South Korea's president after the scandal
South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol is increasingly pressured by the bag scandal that broke out, reports the Korean Herald. First lady Kim Keon Hee is accused of bribery after receiving a handbag from Dior, worth over 20,000 kroner.
Confidence polls show a big loss for Yoon Suk-Yeol, and one of the main reasons for that is that voters are unhappy with his reluctance to comment on what happened.
Yoon is said to be considering appearing on a televised interview with the network KBS. The speculation before such a possible interview is about whether he only intends to explain what happened, or whether he will apologise.
However, the opposition in South Korea claims that KBS should be seen as a biased TV channel because its head Park Min and President Yoon are "old friends".
