Maduro backtracks on promise – stops free elections
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro backtracks on his previous statements and will not allow free elections in the country. This is reported by DN.
The announcement comes after the government-controlled Supreme Court ruled that opposition candidate Mariá Corina Machado may not run in the election.
