A large number of Palestinians were attacked by the Israeli military while waiting for food in Gaza.

Now several politicians in the Riksdag are commenting on the attack - and demanding that Sweden act.

"Those responsible must be held accountable," says Morgan Johansson (S) in a comment.

This morning's attack on the attack on the Palestinians who were waiting in line for food has provoked angry reactions among Swedish politicians.

- Words do not seem to be enough to describe the horrors that are unfolding in Gaza. Let me be clear: an imminent Israeli ground offensive in Rafah would take the nightmare endured by civilians to a new level, says UN human rights chief Volker Türk.

Over 100 people are believed to have died in the attack and around 750 were injured, reports Al Jazeera, among others.

"Israel has attacked a food queue. 30,000 dead civilians now. An incredible tragedy. Israel's occupation must end, the hostages must be released, there must be a total ceasefire and a two-state solution must be implemented," writes Riksdag member Hannar Gunnarsson (V) on X.

Even the Left Party member Ilona Szatmári Waldau reacts:

“Stop the madness! Israel is not attacking Hamas, the country's military is attacking the entire Palestinian people”.

Want to summon Israel's ambassador

Morgan Johansson (S) writes in a comment to Aftonbladet:

“This is a terrible event. Sweden should demand that Israel immediately let in independent investigators from the International Criminal Court, ICC, to investigate what happened. Those responsible must be held accountable.”

The Green Party's foreign policy spokesperson Jacob Risberg writes that he is "extremely dismayed".

"The foreign minister should immediately call the Israeli ambassador for a clarification on how this could happen. It is very clear that an immediate ceasefire is required," writes Risberg on X.

Aftonbladet has contacted Foreign Minister Tobias Billström (M), who is not available for comment because he is not in Sweden.
