The helicopter is probably 300 meters below sea level
The helicopter that crashed outside the Norwegian Bergen on Wednesday evening is probably at a depth of 300 meters. This is what the head of Norway's aviation accident commission, Kåre Halvorsen, told NRK.
At the moment the weather is too bad, but eventually the authorities will try to recover the wreckage.
- It is important to get the helicopter up, because there is also the black box with data about what happened before and during the accident. The box also sends a signal that makes it possible to locate the wreck, he says.
The box is said to contain, among other things, an audio log, which can increase understanding of the accident. A woman in her 60s died - a nurse employed by the oil company Equinor - and five others were injured.
