Tonight's primary election in Michigan is a warning signal to Joe Biden, writes Niall Stanage in an analysis in The Hill. Biden "bleeded" tens of thousands of voters who instead ticked "uncommitted" to show their dissatisfaction with the pursued Middle East policy.
A big problem for the Democrats, who are divided on the issue of Israel-Palestine, writes Stanage.
"The Michigan result made the extent of the problem crystal clear."
The protest voting is said to spread to more states, writes the New York Times in an analyzing text. It will now be important for Biden to regain momentum on the issue.
CNN's Stephen Collinson notes that Biden has eight months to fix his Michigan problem. He believes the president has a real headache, not least because whoever wins Michigan in the fall election has a good chance of returning to the White House.
In the New York Post, Michael Goodwin focuses on Trump's victory in the primaries.
"At this late stage of the Trump era, there is no mystery," Goodwin writes. He thinks that Democrats and the American media have an "arrogant refusal" to recognize what is fueling Trump's success, namely that many Americans are patriotic and do not want to embrace "globalist institutions."

Voters turned their backs on Biden: "Financing Gaza's bombs"
President Joe Biden won tonight's Democratic primary in Michigan, but many voters turned their backs on him. Around 13 percent instead ticked "uncommitted" - roughly "unbound" or "neutral". Many American media note that it is a worrying sign for Biden.
The background is the #ListenToMichigan campaign. A group of American leaders with an Arab background, who demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, is behind the initiative.
In a statement, the group hailed the night's results.
“Biden has funded the bombs that are falling on the family members of people who live here in Michigan. People who voted for him, who now feel completely betrayed. President Biden, listen to Michigan.”
Axios takes a larger look at the opposition from American Arabs and Muslims, which could play a key role in this fall's election. Before the US entered the Middle East in the early 2000s, a majority of the group voted Republican – and now there are signs they are returning to the party.

Walking victory for Trump - already looking towards autumn
Donald Trump won another convincing victory in the Republican primaries last night. In Michigan, Trump gets roughly 68 percent of the support, while challenger Nikki Haley has to settle for 27 percent.
The AP news agency announced the victory shortly after the polls closed. In his victory speech, Trump says that he is looking forward to the election in November - and if he wins, he promises to make the United States "better than ever before".
- We have the worst president in history, the most incompetent and the most corrupt president, and we cannot let that continue, Trump said according to Fox.
The former president has won every primary election so far and is well on his way to becoming the Republican presidential candidate.
