Poland snubbed a meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine
On Friday, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy sent a delegation to the Polish border, led by Prime Minister Denis Smykhal, to discuss the border blockade Polish farmers initiated in protest against cheap Ukrainian imports.
- Whether our Polish colleagues will show up is up to them, Zelenskyj said before the meeting according to AFP.
That was not the case. The Polish government, unwilling to clash with the farmers and declining to discuss the dispute at ministerial level, sent no representative to the border.
It is a sign that the relationship between the countries has taken a serious turn, according to AFP. However, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has opened up talks on the issue at a planned meeting in Warsaw at the end of March.

Biden presents 500 new sanctions against Russia
The US has targeted over 500 new sanctions against Russia – the largest package to date since the full-scale invasion began, Politico reports.
Most of them were already prepared for the second anniversary of the invasion, but the sanctions were extended and accelerated after the death of Alexei Navalny.
- If Putin doesn't have to pay the price for all the death and destruction, he will just continue. And the price for the United States, our NATO allies and our partners in Europe and around the world is rising, says Joe Biden.
The sanctions are aimed at the Russian military apparatus and also target actors in third countries that supply Russia with military equipment.
