Suspect was photographed by witness - led to arrest
A witness saw the fleeing perpetrator at Donald Trump's golf course in Florida, authorities confirm at a press conference.
The witness took a picture of the perpetrator's car, a black Nissan, and alerted the authorities at the scene.
- We were then able to call for the car and not long later it was identified in Martin County and the suspect was arrested, says Palm Beach Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.
He adds that it was "great" that the witness photographed the car. The arrest must have gone smoothly.
The FBI is investigating the incident as a suspected assassination attempt on Donald Trump. It's the second at the Republican presidential candidate in two months.

The FBI is investigating what is suspected to be an assassination attempt on Donald Trump after a gunman was discovered at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida. The authorities announce this at a press conference.
The suspected perpetrator was discovered while Trump was playing. He was spotted about 400 meters further on, at a fence right on the border of the track, and the Secret Service fired shots as a precaution. The suspect fled from there and was apprehended in a car a short time later.
An "AK47-like" weapon with a scope and a Gopro camera were later found at the suspect's location.
Initially, there were reports that shots were fired at Trump. There is no information that shots were fired other than from the Secret service.
It takes place just over two months after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, where he was shot during a campaign speech.
