Aircraft alarms sounded over Tel Aviv and central Israel on Sunday morning.

The missiles were fired by the Houthi movement in Yemen, which claims to have used "a new hypersonic ballistic robot".

- They should know by now that the price for any attempt to harm us is very high, says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu according to AFP.

According to the Israeli military, the robot fired from Yemen crashed in an unpopulated area and no one was injured in the attack, Reuters Reuters.

The Iran-backed Yemeni Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for the attack. Their military spokesman, Yahya Saree, claims they used "a new hypersonic ballistic robot" that Israel failed to shoot down.

The target was a military facility in Israeli Jaffa and the attack created "horror and panic" in Israel, Saree writes in a post on Telegram.

Netanyahu warns the Houthis

Later on Sunday, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, warned the Houthi movement.

- They should know by now that the price for any attempt to harm us is very expensive, he says in connection with a cabinet meeting according to the AFP news agency.

In July, one man died and four people were injured when the Houthi movement fired a long-range drone at Tel Aviv.

That led to Israel responding with a massive airstrike against military targets in the city of al-Hudaydah where three people died and 87 were injured.

Parts of a robot fired from Yemen have crashed in central Israel, the Israeli military says.

The Yemeni Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for the attack. Israel's prime minister sends a stark warning.

According to Israel's military, the robot strike must have taken place in an "open area" and no one was injured. The robot is said to have disintegrated in the air after several Israeli attempts to shoot it down, reports The Times of Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is warning the Houthi movement after the group claimed responsibility for this morning's attack.

- They should know by now that the price for any attempt to harm us is very expensive, he says in connection with a cabinet meeting according to the AFP news agency.

"Fear and Panic"

Parts of the Israeli anti-aircraft missiles that were launched to meet the robot also fell in central Israel, including over a train station in Modiin between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Falling air defenses also caused several fires in open terrain, including near the city of Lod, Israeli Haaretz reports.

In a televised speech, the Iran-backed Houthi movement's military spokesman Yahya Saree claims that the robot got past Israeli and American air defenses and caused "fear and panic" in Israel.

According to Saree, the ballistic robot's target was a military facility in Jaffa, Israel.

Threatens with more

Since the start of the war in Gaza, the Houthi movement has repeatedly sent drones and robots against Israel, but almost all of them have been stopped over the Red Sea. On Sunday, the Lebanese news agency al-Mayadeen reports, citing a high-ranking source in Yemen, that the Houthis are threatening continued attacks.

- As long as Israel's attacks in Gaza and the West Bank continue, Israel should expect the worst, says the source.

In July, one person was killed and several injured when a projectile fired by the Houthis reached Tel Aviv. Israel responded with extensive airstrikes against Houthi targets in the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah, killing three and injuring nearly 90 as a result.
