Labor is backing away from an election promise to end fossil fuels

The British government plans to back away from plans to introduce a total ban on new cars that are partially or fully powered by petrol or diesel, reports The Telegraph. According to the newspaper, hybrid cars will remain on the market until 2035.

An election promise from Labor was that the new sale of cars with combustion engines would be banned in 2030. The reason for the change in the governing party is declining sales of electric cars and that the charging infrastructure is insufficient.
