Dinner with Donald Trump's son cost 1.6 million

When the president's son Donald Trump Jr. visited Tallinn recently, business leaders and businessmen were offered to buy into the dinner for the equivalent of 1.6 million kronor. This is reported by DI's Estonian sister newspaper Äripäev.

A "very good opportunity" for those who want to enter the US market, the invitation to the private dinner said, according to the newspaper.

Crisis-hit Volkswagen's major clean-up could mean the group sells motorcycle manufacturer Ducati. The Italian brand is one of 600 of the group's 2,000 operations that are being evaluated, Audi CEO Gernot Döllner tells Bloomberg.

- But no decision has been made, he adds.

Ducati has gained something of a Ferrari aura in the motorcycle world and is valued at around 1.25 billion euros, equivalent to 14 billion kronor, according to Bloomberg analysts.

Last week, Volkswagen's board hammered out a savings package in which an additional 50,000 jobs could disappear, in addition to the approximately 50,000 previously announced cuts.

Canada's retaliatory tariffs for 190 billion have come into effect

Canada's retaliatory tariffs against the United States have come into effect, AFP reports this morning. The tariffs of 15, 25 and 50 percent are being imposed on American goods worth 27.6 billion Canadian dollars, equivalent to 190 billion kronor.

Canada's new tariffs include steel and aluminum products and dairy products such as cheese. At the same time, fish and shellfish have been removed from the original list, the news agency writes.
