OSLO. Thousands have visited King Harald's coffin every day.

Tomorrow, the funeral will be shown on big screens in 140 churches around Norway.

"All of Norway will stand still on Wednesday, September 9," writes the Church of Norway.

For a week, the public has been able to say goodbye to King Harald in the Norwegian castle chapel. Tonight is the last chance - before King Harald's coffin is taken to Oslo Cathedral.

And King Harald to his final resting place.

140 churches open up

Over the past week, around 5,000 people have made their way to the castle chapel every day. On Saturday, a total of 7,000 gathered and some queued for up to seven hours, writes VG.

The funeral will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday and a minute's silence will be held throughout the country. When the ceremony begins, those who want to follow it will be able to do so elsewhere.

The Church of Norway will broadcast the funeral on large screens in 140 churches across the country.

"It can be good to be together, perhaps participate in hymn singing with others and remember the king in a church," the church writes in a press release.

King Harald's coffin will be escorted, followed by the royal family. On Instagram, the royal family has published pictures of Queen Sonja in front of her husband's coffin.

"Thank you for a fine life," is written on the wreath next to it.
