Thai Democratic Movement in Scandinavia

The Thai Democratic Movement in Scandinavia is a group of Thai patriotic
people living abroad who struggle for democracy and justice for their
beloved country. We are therefore gathering together to found the Thai
Democratic Movement in Scandinavia, with the purpose of supporting the Thai
Revolution Movement for democracy to overthrow the absolute monarchy - the
king's dictatorship in Thailand.

The government system in Thailand is an absolute monarchy where the king
enjoys absolute power over the country, and exercises his power through the
executive, legislative.and judicial bodies. He is also the Commander in
Chief of the military, navy and airforce. The King has the power to appoint
all high ranking officials, including army and police. He is the biggest
capitalist in Thailand and has monopolised large sections of the whole
economy and commercial system by using the Crown's Properties office as an
instrument to exploit the country and the people for his own benefit
and as such, he has become one of the richest persons in the world.

The absolute monarchy in Thailand is of the worst kind Thailand has ever had
since the revolution in 1932. The Thai people who struggled for freedom and
democracy were brutally killed successively one after the other, e.g. on 14
October 1975, 6 October 1978, in 1986 and 2009, as well as on 10 April and
19 May 2010 when over 90 people were killed and over 2000 were wounded.

The lèse majesté law paragraph 112 is now widely used to suppress and jail
people who are fighting for freedom and democracy.

We are the Thai people in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, organising the struggle to abolish the absolute monarchy in Thailand and to
establish fully democracy in a country where the power should come from the entire people and the people's power should be exercised through an elected
Government.
