In about a week, a real cold suede awaits.

A Greenland blockade leads to arctic air coming down and in over Sweden.

- It's about proper cold, says Mikael Luhr, meteorologist at Klart.se.

A Greenland Blockade, which is a significant high pressure over Greenland, appears to be spreading.

This, in turn, will most likely lead to it being very cold in Sweden in just over a week.

- The high pressure is forcing the arctic cold down over Europe, says Mikael Luhr, meteorologist at Klart.se.

30 degrees below zero

The cold air is expected at the end of next week and until Lucia.

- The forecast is a bit uncertain so far, but it could be between five and 15 minus in the southern parts of the country and between 15 and 30 minus degrees in the northern parts, says Mikael Luhr. The temperature also depends on how cloudy it will be, according to Luhr.

- If there are starry nights, it can be even colder in both the south and the north, he says.

Snow for the weekend

In Europe it will be "extremely cold". At the same time, it is getting warmer over the Arctic.

- You could say it is moving in the wrong direction, says Mikael Luhr.

Already this weekend it will snow again.

- A low pressure circulates by the Baltic Sea, which means that there will be a lot of snow in southern Norrland, Svealand and Götaland

In some places, there can be up to ten centimeters of snow, says Mikael Luhr.

Increased chance of a white Christmas That snow will very likely remain in most places as colder air is expected.

The chance that we will have a white Christmas in Sweden is therefore quite high.
