Russia labels the Moscow Times news site an agent
Russia places independent news site The Moscow Times on its list of "foreign agents". The site itself writes that Russia often places independent journalists, activists and organizations on the list. It is seen as a way of trying to silence critical voices.
The Moscow Times has become popular among Russians abroad. For the outside world, it has also become a valuable news source for news about Russia during the war, AP writes.
It is unclear exactly how the branding will affect the news site, which moved its operations out of Russia in 2022 when a new law banned reporting critical of the Russian military.

Scientists: Europe cannot afford a Russian win in the war
It is possible to handle more than one crisis at a time, and the war between Israel and Hamas need not lead to a reduction in support for Ukraine. That's what several researchers at the Eastern Economic Institute write on DN Debatt.
They believe that in times of political turbulence in the US, a special EU institution needs to be established whose task will be to coordinate international support to Ukraine.
Let us not think that other conflicts mean that we lack the ability or financial muscle to support Ukraine at the same time, write the debaters.
"If there's one thing we really can't afford, it's a Russian victory in the war."
