New record - clear that 2023 will be the warmest year
For the sixth month in a row, the global average temperature for each month has been the highest ever recorded in the world. The "extraordinary temperatures" in November make it clear that 2023 will be the hottest year on record, according to the EU's Copernicus climate service.
In November, the average temperature was 14.22 degrees. That's 0.85 degrees warmer than the global average for November over the period 1991-2020, according to Copernicus.
