The leader of the far-right German party AFD, Tino Chrupalla, is under fire after reports that he participated in a secret meeting between right-wing politicians and wealthy entrepreneurs. Der Spiegel writes that Chrupalla, according to a leaked letter, attended the meeting that took place in October 2021.
The meeting is said to have been a kind of networking between politicians and entrepreneurs. The latter have reportedly announced their interest in investing in various projects, such as right-leaning media.
The meeting is said to have been organized by Gernot Mörig, known for decades of involvement in the German right-wing extremist world.
But Tino Chrupalla, who is pressed on the question of his possible presence by several media, avoids answering.
- I'm like Scholz, I don't remember anything, he says to Zeit as a pass to Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

3,000 tractors in Berlin as protests culminate
On Monday, the large farmers' protests in Germany are expected to reach their climax, German media reports. A demonstration to mark the end of the week-long protests has already begun in Berlin.
3,000 tractors, 2,000 trucks and 10,000 participants are believed to take part in the demonstration. On the Autobahn, 400 tractors are on their way from the region of Saxony-Anhalt.
The farmers are turning against the reduced subsidies that the Social Democrat-led coalition government has proposed. The proposals, which to some extent have been withdrawn after the criticism, concern, for example, reduced financial support for agricultural vehicles and fuel.
Minister of Finance Christian Lindner from the liberal FDP has said before today's big protest that the farmers must dampen their hopes that the government will scrap all austerity measures.
