Hamas shocked Israel with a multi-front attack on Saturday morning. 

 

Many people were killed, injured and taken hostage. 

 

- We have never seen an attack on this scale, says Israel's ambassador to Sweden, Ziv Nevo Kulman.  

 

On Saturday morning, Hamas launched an attack from the Gaza Strip. Israel's ambassador, Ziv Nevo Kulman, says he has never seen anything like it. He says the country has been attacked by its neighboring countries in the past, but not by an NGO. 

 

- Hamas has started a multi-front war against Israel, says Kulman and continues:  

 

- I'm not sure everyone knows about it, but Hamas is a terrorist organization, most governments in the world think so.  

 

Several villages in southern Israel were captured during the morning and the number of injured and dead has risen during the morning. 

 

- There are reports of several dead and injured and apparently there are still several villages where hostage situations are taking place, says Ziv Nevo Kulman.

Many who are worried  

 

After today's attack, Kulman says that many Swedes have reached out to show their support.  

 

- Ordinary people but also politicians from all camps have heard, says Kulman.  

 

At the same time, there has been great concern among many Israelis and Jews in Sweden. 

 

- We receive a lot of messages from people who are worried about their loved ones. A large part of the country has been affected and many are currently in shelters. At the same time, there is a poor connection in many places and it is difficult to get there, says Ziv Nevo Kulman.  

 

Also affects Gaza 

 

He believes that the attack will have consequences but hopes that as few as possible will be injured. 

 

- But we will defend our civilians, our cities and borders, says Ziv Nevo Kulman.  

 

According to Kulman, the attack does not only affect Israel. Gaza is also negatively affected by the attack.  

 

- Actions like this take the Gaza Strip back several years. It is not good for the Palestinians or their cause.
