The President of the Philippines took a helicopter to the concert arena
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has been caught in the crossfire since it emerged that he took a helicopter to a Coldplay concert. That's what NBC writes.
Critics of the trip, which took place just outside the traffic-heavy capital Manila, say it is a waste of tax money and a sign that the extensive traffic problems in the capital are not being taken seriously.
According to the president's staff, "unforeseen" traffic jams posed a potential security problem.
In 2023, the traffic queues in Manila were judged to be the worst in the entire world, compared to 400 other major cities. The journey time is twice as long as in New York, which is the most traffic-heavy city in the USA.

Chris Martin: Thanks for putting up with the shit
The traffic queues in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, are so noticeable that Coldplay performed a song about the problems at one of the weekend's two concerts, writes CNN.
After the issue received a lot of attention on Friday, singer Chris Martin sang a newly composed song about car traffic the following evening. It included lines such as "if you want to drive anywhere, I'm warning you" and "the traffic here in Manila is absolutely crazy".
He also sent a greeting directly to the fans:
- Thank you for putting yourself through all this shit.
