Five dead after plane crash in Tokyo - one seriously injured
Five people have been confirmed dead after the plane crash at Haneda Airport in Tokyo on Tuesday morning. All were crewmen on the Coast Guard plane that collided with a Japan Airlines passenger plane.
The captain of the Coast Guard plane is badly injured.
The collision occurred when the Japan Airlines plane, which was on its way from Sapporo, was about to land. All 379 on board the passenger plane survived.

The coast guard said the agency's plane was heading to the city of Niigata to deliver aid to the earthquake-stricken province of Noto.

Details: The Coast Guard's plane was missing a transponder
The Coast Guard plane involved in a crash in Tokyo was not equipped with a modern ADS-B transponder, which is used to broadcast the plane's exact position to air traffic control centers and other aircraft.
This is reported by Sky News with reference to the flight site Flightradar 24.
ADS-B transponders are considered to provide more accurate and reliable information than conventional radar surveillance.
The Coast Guard's plane was a so-called Dash 8 plane manufactured by Canadian Bombardier.
Five crew members on the plane have been confirmed dead while the captain is being treated for serious injuries.
