Trump's threat: "Bomb the shit" out of an ally

Iran and Oman are negotiating to open the Strait of Hormuz.

Now Donald Trump is threatening his ally:

- If Oman interferes, we will bomb the shit out of them, he tells Fox News.

The Strait of Hormuz has been closed since February.

Negotiations between the US and Iran have repeatedly failed, and in recent days Iran's foreign minister stated that separate talks have been initiated with Oman, which is located on the other side of the strait.

On Monday, a spokesperson for Iran's foreign ministry said that an agreement had been reached - without US involvement.

This was not appreciated by Donald Trump, who went on the attack during a telephone interview on Fox News.

- If Oman interferes, we will bomb the shit out of them, he says.

Trump says he is in no hurry to end the conflict, but confirms that contact has been reestablished with the Revolutionary Guard in Iran.

– They are good poker players, but they are dying. I have no timetable. I am in no hurry, he says.

The 60-day ceasefire between the US and Iran expires in a few days. According to Trump, the “main goal” is still to ensure that Iran never gets any nuclear weapons.

– They should raise the white flag of surrender.

On Monday evening, Trump said that he no longer wants to extend the ceasefire with Iran, reports NRK and refers to Reuters. He also stated that he does not believe that Iran is willing to enter into “the kind of agreement that I believe is necessary”.

A senior Iranian official tells Reuters that Iran will switch to a fully offensive military strategy after attempts to negotiate an end to the war have stalled.
