Over 100 arrested near the Ceuta border
Moroccan police have arrested at least 111 people near the border with the Spanish North African exclave of Ceuta on Saturday, Reuters reports.
The people are accused of trying to cross to the Spanish side.
During the day, police in Morocco have used tear gas to disperse a group of people a few kilometers from the border, according to the Spanish news agency Efe. Several media outlets, including AFP, report that several people have been arrested or stopped in the border area with Ceuta.
A few weeks ago, more than 70,000 people crossed into Ceuta, which created a lot of attention around the world. Most of them were brought back to Morocco in the following days.
At least 96 people died in the incident, according to Reuters.
