Support for Trump falls to record low of 33 percent

Support for Donald Trump has fallen to 33 percent, according to a new opinion poll from Reuters/Ipsos. The figure is the lowest so far during his presidency and two percentage points lower than previously in August.

Support for Trump among Republicans has fallen 8 percentage points in a month, writes the Financial Times, citing its own opinion poll.

53 percent of voters feel that they have become worse off during Trump's presidency, according to the survey.

64 percent believe that the economy is going in the wrong direction. The Financial Times writes that the figures are particularly problematic because voters state that inflation and the cost of living are the most important issues – and the economy is considered a strength of the Republicans.

HD rejects Trump's appeal in Carroll case – again

The US Supreme Court has rejected Donald Trump's attempt to overturn a ruling that he must pay $5 million to author Elizabeth Jean Carroll for the second time, Bloomberg reports.

A jury found in 2023 that Trump sexually assaulted Carroll in 1996 and later defamed her. Trump denies the allegations.

"One big hoax," Trump wrote of Carroll's allegations in 2022.
