Biden had just approved $1 billion in aid when the Ukrainian president began asking for more help.

Then the president of the United States allegedly lost his temper and scolded Zelensky.

NBC News reports.

The American and Ukrainian presidents, according to NBC News, regularly speak on the phone with each other.

In connection with military support packages from the USA, the contacts become more intense.

But it's not all gold and green forests between Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

During a call in June, things got really heated.

Enraged

According to four sources that  NBC News refers to, Joe Biden should have lost his patience and become angry.

The US president said that he had just approved another aid package worth about one billion dollars when Zelenskyi started to list more things that he has not yet received.

Biden is then said to have become angry. He reportedly said that the United States, his government and the military worked hard to help Ukraine and that President Zelensky could show a little more gratitude.

Neither the White House nor representatives of Zelenskyy have wanted to comment or officially confirm the phone call in question.

Better relationship

Since the conversation in June, the presidents' relationship has reportedly improved. Among other things, Zelenskyj is said to have publicly thanked the US for the country's "generous help".

Whether this is because of the call in June or not is unclear.

Joe Biden is currently facing some resistance at home, above all from members of Congress who were previously not present when the support package for Ukraine was approved.

How it will be after the mid-term elections and how much additional support for Ukraine will be approved in Congress is unclear.
