Yellen: China has room to stimulate the economy
China has political room to manage its economic slowdown, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said at a press conference at the G20 summit in New Delhi, according to international media.
- We see China's growth as slowing down over time. That said, China has a lot of political space to address these challenges, she said, according to the FT.
Yellen did not offer specific advice to Chinese authorities but said Washington is "monitoring" the challenges facing the world's second-largest economy.

Sunak: China brake pad - obstructing on important issues
Britain accuses China of obstructing several important issues to be discussed at this weekend's G20 meeting in the Indian capital of New Delhi, the Times of India reports.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak says China opposes proposals to deal with climate change and a joint letter to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In an interview with Bloomberg, he describes the negotiations as "challenging", writes the Times of India.
Russia, Saudi Arabia and South Africa also oppose a goal that global emissions should be reduced by 2026 at the latest, according to two sources with insight into the negotiations.
