Israel-linked ship hijacked by Houthis: “Iranian terrorist act”
Houthi rebels from Yemen hijacked a cargo ship linked to Israel in the Red Sea on Sunday. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office calls the incident an "Iranian terrorist act". At the same time, the hijacking raises concerns about disruptions in ship traffic in the region, writes Bloomberg.
The Galaxy Leader vessel is registered in the UK and operated by a Japanese company, but is reportedly owned by Israeli businessman Rami Ungar, the news agency reported.
Before Sunday's hijacking, the Houthi rebels said they currently see all ships with links to Israel as legitimate targets, Reuters reports.

Ex-chief wants to investigate BBC's Gaza reporting: "Like press releases from Hamas"
The BBC's coverage of the war between Israel and Hamas should be scrutinized by an independent inquiry, believes Danny Cohen, who was head of the British public service company's television division between 2013 and 2015. Cohen believes that the BBC has a pro-Palestinian side in its reporting.
Among other things, he is critical of correspondent Caroline Hawley's activity on platform X. The criticism is based on the fact that Hawley, according to Cohen, has published a large number of posts where she writes about the "shocking" and "terrible" situation in Gaza. She also reportedly posted a number of updates on the death toll in Gaza.
The Telegraph writes that Hawley, meanwhile, has only published 18 posts, out of a total of 195 since the war began, that contain information about Israeli casualties and hostages.
Cohen tells the newspaper that Hawley's social media feed "looks like a series of Hamas press releases.
