Terrorism prosecutors have opened an investigation

According to information in the French media, the arrested perpetrator should be in his 20s and a former student at the school. The perpetrator's brother is said to have also been arrested in the vicinity of another school, but he is said not to have been armed, according to Le Parisien.

During the afternoon, the police in the area issued two more warnings at other secondary schools in Arras. Just before 2:15 p.m., a person was arrested who had forced his way into the Robespierre high school with a suspicious backpack. The police bomb squad searched the school for explosives.
