Netanyahu: We are at war and we will win
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says in a statement after Hamas' extensive rocket attacks that Israel is at war.
- And we will win, he says in a clip published on X.
He says Hamas will pay a price on a scale they have never seen before. At the same time, the military states that it is fighting the terror-classified group in several locations and that it is carrying out airstrikes against several targets in Gaza.
At least a hundred people are said to have been injured and several killed in this morning's massive rain of rockets over Israel. Hamas members also reportedly entered Israeli cities and opened fire. Rockets are fired from the Gaza Strip.

Details: Hamas enters by boat and paraglider
Several militant Palestinians have, according to the Israeli military, entered Israel's territory after this morning's extensive rocket attacks, several media reports. Residents are asked to stay indoors.
According to information in the Palestinian media, several Israeli soldiers have been taken hostage and a video of a destroyed Israeli tank is circulating in Hamas' own channels, writes Reuters.
Videos on social media also show how soldiers from the terror-labeled group try to enter Israel via smaller boats, writes Sky News. Paragliding Hamas members are said to have also landed in the city of Sderot, from where gunfire was later reported.

Right now: Israel responds with airstrikes against Gaza
Israeli warplanes are now carrying out about ten attacks on the Gaza Strip, in response to this morning's massive rocket attacks by Hamas against Israel. This is stated by the Israeli military at X.
A spokesman for the military says, according to Reuters, that there is fighting on the border between Israel and Gaza and that thousands of reservists will be called up.
Around 100 people are said to have been injured in this morning's rocket attacks.

Over 20 dead in the attacks - 500 reportedly injured
Thousands of rockets have been fired at Israel from several locations in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, several news agencies report. The air raid warning sounded in the early morning and could be heard as far as Tel Aviv, 70 kilometers north of Gaza.
At least 22 people are said to have been killed. This is reported by Reuters citing Israeli N12 News, which in turn refers to Israeli ambulance operations. over 500 people are said to have been injured.
Columns of smoke formed in the morning over several cities and images on social media show damaged buildings and vehicles.
Hamas has claimed responsibility for the attacks and says it has launched a new military operation against Israel. In a statement, Hamas military leader Mohammed Deif stated that it had fired as many as 5,000 rockets at Israel. After the attacks, there have been reports of Hamas soldiers entering Israel and shooting in the streets.

The rest of the world condemns Hamas attacks: "Must stop"
Several countries condemn the terror-classified Hamas military operation and rocket attacks against Israel. The EU's head of foreign affairs, Josep Borell, writes on X that the Union is sadly following developments and unequivocally condemns Hamas's attacks.
"This appalling violence must stop immediately."
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock also calls for an end to the violence and points out at X that innocents and civilians are affected. The British Foreign Secretary also condemns the attacks and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak says he is shocked by the events.
France's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also published a statement condemning the attacks "in the strongest possible terms", writes AFP.
