The West and Ukraine want to change the narrative about the counter-offensive  

 

Ukrainian and Western representatives have recently tried to change the narrative about the counteroffensive to lower expectations and ensure continued foreign support, writes the Washington Post. This is due to a fear that Ukraine is losing its previous dominance in the PR war.  

 

The newspaper writes that Western representatives at several press meetings have recently expressed concern about how the war is assessed and reported in the media. Usually reserved press secretaries have urged journalists to look up from the trenches and see the war in a bigger perspective. 

 

At the same time, the Ukrainian army has limited journalists' opportunities to report from the front.

Ukraine's slow counter-offensive has raised concerns in the West and led to more and more countries wavering in their support. But according to retired American top general Ben Hodges, the criticism is completely wrong and misguided, writes Newsweek.  

 

According to him, Ukraine is right to focus its efforts on knocking out artillery, headquarters and logistics.

The US is pressuring Russia to use nuclear weapons by arming Ukraine. This is what Belarus Putin-allied President Aleksandr Lukashenko says according to CNN. 

 

- I get the impression, and I mention again that this is my opinion, that the Americans are pressuring the Russians to use the most terrifying of weapons.  

 

He mentions, among other things, long-range robots with the capacity to hit targets 30 miles away that Ukraine has received from the United States. If one of these struck deep inside Russian territory, the response would be "colossal", says Lukashenko.
